![]() They came in the house of Ibraheem and Ibraheem, the father of generosity, went out and bought a calf. In a different part of the world – Ibraheem received three guests. Lut ‘alayhis salaam made du’aa`: “My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do.” (26:169) Ibraheem Has Guests ![]() Then they said, “If you seize not, O Lot, you will be one of those who are driven out.” Even though Lut was alone, he told them the truth in public: “Realize and know that I disapprove severely and strongly what you are doing.” He is saying that he will not get along with them. Similarly, in the west, if you want to follow Islam, you are looked at as if you are an extremist. If you want to be clean, then you are in the wrong place. If you want to stay, you cannot stay here. The people of Lut are saying to kick him out because he wants to pure. When the people of Lut heard his message, this was their response: Allah says: “And the answer of his people was only that they said: “Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins).” (7:82) Do you see how the good becomes bad and the bad becomes good? How the concepts are turned upside down? This is a very important thing – hayaa` is a branch of iman, for both men and women. Hayaa` still exists in some Muslim countries, in the rural areas. You see at conventions, brother and sisters are bumping into each other, laughing loudly. I have seen from some of the sisters that the hijaab is only from the outside, but inside there is no hayaa`. You should be assertive, loud, noisy, etc. We find this in the world today – people have lost hayaa`. If you reach a level in which you do such things in public, this shows that these people that you have no hayaa`. The people of Lut completely lost the concept of shame. Verily, you do sodomy with men, and rob the wayfarer (travellers, etc.)! And practise Al-Munkar (disbelief and polytheism and every kind of evil wicked deed) in your meetings.’” (29:28 ) They had clubs in which they would commit their evil in public. People nowadays are trying to defend it because they say it is in the genes.Īllah says: “And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: ‘You commit Al-Fahishah (sodomy the worst sin) which none has preceded you in (committing) it in the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns). Therefore, if anyone tells you that this is in the genes, that is not true. Lut told the people: “Go you in unto the males of the ‘Alamin (mankind), And leave those whom Allah has created for you to be your wives? Nay, you are a trespassing people!” (26:165-166) Invention of a SinĪnd (remember) Lout (Lot)! When he said to his people, “Do you commit AlFahishah (evil, great sin, every kind of unlawful sexual intercourse, sodomy, etc.) while you see (one another doing evil without any screen, etc.)?” (27:54) The people of Lut used to do this in public, in their clubs. That wasn’t the only problem, they had other problems also – they were criminals and they caused corruption in the land. The people of Lut were suffering from the disease of homosexuality. The people of Lut attacked him because Lut told them what they didn’t want to hear about. The religion of Allah confront the present problems, not hypothetical situations or things of the past. In the da’wah that we give today, we don’t do this. People do not want to hear that they are wrong. People do not want to hear about their mistakes. That is why all of the prophets and messengers suffered at the hands of the people. The messengers and prophets addressed the problems of the society. The people will love you as a da’eeya, because you are telling them what you want to hear. Or the women aren’t wear hijaab, and you don’t talk about hijaab. For example, if the people in front of me are smoking, so I won’t talk about smoking I’ll talk about something else. It easy to give da’wah by telling people what they want to hear and neglecting the things they don’t want to hear. ![]() They put their hand on the disease, understand the symptoms and attack it. They confront the diseases of the society. We notice that when the ambiya of Allah are dealing with their people, they confront the problems of the society and they do not confront hypothetical situations, problems that are irrelevant or problems of the past. That would mean that the commandments, orders and instructions should be taken from Allah. We are saying that there is no god that should be worshipped but Allah and no god should be followed but Allah, because there is no god other than Allah. But we must realize that tawhid is not just a word that is spoken, but it is in actions. We know that the first thing ambiya call to is tawhid – there is no god but Allah. He was the nephew of Ibrahim, but he was sent on a mission to make da’wah to those people. Lut was sent to the people of Sadoom (or Sodom, in English). The Story of Lut Hit the Nail on the Head
